Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi‘s Bollywood debut film, Mumbaikar was initially made for theatrical experience. But the film is now skipping theatrical release and heading directly to OTT. The film is gearing up for its direct to digital premieres as Jio Studios have bagged the related rights of the action drama.
Mumbaikar will be made available for streaming on Jio and Netflix simultaneously and an official announcement on the same will be out shortly.
Mumbaikar is the Hindi remake of Tamil film Maanagaram, which revolves around a young man who is threatened by a few men, he ends up fighting with them and getting on their bad side. Things take a turn when they set out to seek revenge.
Mumbaikar is directed by Santosh Sivan and it has Vikrant Massey, Vijay Sethupathi, Tanya Maniktala, Hridhu Haroon, Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, and Sachin Khedekar in the lead roles.
