Vijay Sethupati’s latest blockbuster ’Maharaja’ is coming to OTT after a very successful theatrical run. Helmed by Nithilan Swaminathan, ‘Maharaja’s’ digital premiere has been much awaited and without making the fans wait for long the film is coming to Netflix on 12th July, 2024, just after four weeks of releasing in theatres.
‘Maharaja’ is a Tamil launguage action thriller film that follows a barber who seeks vengeance after his home is burglarized, cryptically telling police his “lakshmi” has been taken, leaving them uncertain if it’s a person or object. His quest to recover the elusive “lakshmi” unfolds.
Written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, ‘Maharaja’ stars Vijay Sethupati in the titlular role alongside Anurag Kashyap, Sachana Namidass, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Divya Bharathi, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Vinod Sagar, and Manikandan among others.
‘Maharaja’ received positive reviews upon its release with praises pouring in from both critics and public specially for Sethupati’s incredible performance, Philomin Raj’s editing, and Swaminathan’s screenplay and direction.
