Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ Finally Locks an Official Release Date!

Superstar Vijay‘s next big outing at the movies after Nelson’s ‘Beast’ is ‘Varisu’. The makers have been dropping looks of the superstar actor and the official release date has been locked. For the longest time, Varisu was targetting Pongal release and now it’s all official. The film will have one of the widest pongal releases ever on January 12th, 2023.

Varisu is officially 66th feature film of the superstar and his immediate next outing since his last disappointing run with Nelson directorial ‘Beast’. This Vamshi Paidipally directorial is said to be a drama film and more in the family friendly genre in comparison to his previous releases. The news about Varisu OTT rights being bagged by Amazon Prime Video at record prices for a Tamil movie ever made huge headlines recently.

Varisu is written by Vamshi Paidipally and co-written by Hari and Ashishor Solomon. The film is bankrolled by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateshwara Creations. Although earlier reports suggested that the film would be a telugu-tamil bilingual, the makers squashed the rumours and cleared that the film is shot only in Tamil. Varisu has quite a few ‘first time collaborations’ to its record. While Vijay co-stars with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time in the film, Music director Thaman also scores and composes music for Vijay for the first time in each other’s careers. Stay tuned for more updates.
