Superstar Vijay’s next big outing at the movies after Nelson’s ‘Beast’ is ‘Varisu‘ which is all set for a Pongal release. The makers have been dropping looks of the superstar actor off-late and the latest hot news is that the OTT rights of ‘Varisu’ is been sold to Amazon Prime Video. According to confirmed reports, the film has been bought by the streaming giant at the highest ever amount for any Tamil film so far.
The satellite rights of ‘Varisu’ is with Sun TV and Audio rights are with T series. Vijay’s Beast digital rights were with Netflix India while Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master OTT rights were sold to Amazon Prime India post its theatrical blockbuster success. Varisu is the actor’s next outing since his last disappointing run with Nelson directorial Beast. This Vamshi Paidipally directorial is said to be a drama film and more in the family friendly zone in comparison to his previous films.
Varisu is written by Vamshi himself alongside Hari and Ahishor Solomon. The film is bankrolled by Dip Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateshwara Creations. Varisu has quite a few ‘first time collaborations’ to its record. While Vijay co-stars with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time in the film, Music director Thaman also scores and composes music for Vijay for the first time in each other’s careers. Stay tuned for more updates.
