Vikram has finally slowed down at the box office. The latest Kamal Haasan starrer is in the final days of its spectacular theatrical run. It has already emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies in the history of Tamil cinema. Now, it has added another feather to its crown.
Vikram has surpassed the prestigious 300-crore mark at the Indian box office in its fifth week. The film collected 5.25 crores in its fifth weekend, taking its domestic box office total up to 302.50 crores. Also, it has minted nearly 420 crores globally.
The movie showed a near 60 per cent drop in the fifth week of its theatrical run. Still, it is considered a good sign compared to Aditya Roy Kapur’s brain-dead action thriller, Rashtra Kavach Om. Kapur’s latest project has managed to collect 4 crores only in its opening weekend.
Additionally, Vikram is ready to hit the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform this Friday. So, we can expect the film to conclude its domestic theatrical run with an approx total of 310-320 crores.
Serving as the spiritual successor of the 1986 film of the same name, Vikram performed exceptionally well in the theatres. The narrative style, technical aspects, action sequences, and the performances of Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi turned out to be the film’s standout points.
