IMDb, the world’s most trusted database of information related to films, television series and streaming content, has just revealed its Top Ten Most Popular Indian Films Of 2022 – the first half of 2022, of course. The IMDb Top Ten is created with the help of the ratings that the films have received on the IMDb website from viewers. IMDb arrives at its Top Ten films by taking into account two important criteria –
1. The rating (out of ten) given to a film by viewers)
2. The number of ratings received by a film
By this criteria, even if a film like Kamal Haasan’s Vikram has bagged a rating of 8.6 – the highest out of all the films on the list – it gets a lower place on the Top Ten list, owing to the fact that the total number of ratings it has received is quite low – only 31k.
Just to compare, The Kashmir Files has received an overall rating of 8.3, but it has raked in a massive 551k ratings from fans.

No prizes for guessing that all the best and most popular Indian films of the year have made it to the Top Ten Indian Films of 2022. There are a few surprises in the list, in the form of films that flopped at the box office but made it to the Top Ten of the first half of 2022. On the flipside, box office hits such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Master, Beast and Don have failed to make it to the list of Top Ten Indian films of 2022.
