‘Mumbaikar’, the much awaited Hindi film debut of Vijay Sethupati, also starring Vikrant Massey in the lead, has skipped theatres and is now set to premiere on Jio Cinema next month for free.
Jio Cinema made the announcement today with a teaser launch. In this teaser Vijay Sethupati by mistake kidnaps the kid of Mumbai’s Don (played by Ranvir Shorey) instead of some other kid. Soon enough multiple parties, including Vikrant Massey, get involved in this kidnapping leading to a confusing scenario as to who has the kid. All this chaos with action and drama make ‘Mumbaikar’ quite interesting.
Directed by Santosh Sivan, ‘Mumbaikar’ is the Hindi remake of Lokesh Kangaraj’s Tamil action thriller film ‘Maanagaram’ (2017). The film stars Vijay Sethupati, Vikrant Massey, Ranvir Shorey, Tanya Maniktala, Raghav Binani, Hridhu Haroon, Sanjay Mishra and Sachin Khedekar among others.
Himanshu Singh and Amit Joshi serve as writers for ‘Mumbaikar’ with cinematography by Santosh Sivan and editing from Dilip Damodar. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Riya Shibu.
Presented by Jio Studios, ‘Mumbaikar’ is a HR Pictures production and will premiere only on Jio Cinema for free on 2nd June, 2023.
