Vir Das has had quite a stellar career in the recent past as he seems to have found his groove. He had a rocky start to his career in Bollywood but seems to have overcome all those obstacles and cemented his place as a dependable name in the era of OTT platforms.
Vir Das is set to star in another Netflix film called The Bubble. ‘The Bubble’ is a meta-comedy about a group of actors and actresses who are trying to finish a film as they are stuck inside a bubble in a hotel during the pandemic.
Netflix’s ‘The Bubble’ has an extensive lineup of performers such as Karen Gillian, Iris Apatow, Fred Armisen, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Pedro Pascal, and Peter Serafinowicz who are set to play lead roles. Vir Das will join this list of renowned performers.
Judd Apatow has co-written (along with Pam Brady), directed, and also produced this film. Barry Mendel, Donald Sabourin, and Pam Brady are executive producing this film.
Vir Das who was struggling to get roles in Bollywood is currently on a spree as he has 4 comedy specials on Netflix (Vir Das for India, Losing It, Abroad Understanding, Outside In) the most by any Indian comedian. Outside In was shot during the pandemic and his brand of intellectual comedy seems to resonate with modern audiences. Vir Das seems to have a lovely relationship with Netflix and he was also last seen in Netflix’s dark comedy titled Hasmukh which had a pretty unique theme. Apart from that, he has also worked on international projects before as he appeared in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier.
