Regional Telugu Exclusive OTT Platform, Aha Video is on a roll. In a bid to give Original content to its subscribers every week, the platform is dubbing the successful films of other languages. After premiering Tovino Thomas’ Maayanadhi this week, it has lined up another film of the same actor for Christmas.
His 2018 film, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, is dubbed into Telugu as Vyooham. The movie is based on the sensational Sundari Amma murder case which rocked Kerala. The movie failed to impress the Malayalam audience back then when it was released. It has to be seen if the movie will strike a chord with the Telugu audience.
Oru Kuprasidha Payyan is the story of Ajayan, who was accused of the murder of Chenbakam (Saranya Ponvannan). Ajayan works in a hotel, and Chenbakam, who runs a catering service, supplies idlies to it. They share a close bonding where Chenbakam treats Ajayan as her own son. Oru Kuprasidha Payyan is a murder mystery combined with a courtroom drama. Tovino Thomas became a familiar face to the Telugu audience via dubbing films in the Lockdown. There are instances of a film failing in its native language but fairing well when dubbed into other languages. It has to be seen if the good casting, the usually good dubbing quality of Aha, and the story strikes a chord with the Telugu audience.
