Warner Bros Discovery has plans to expand the production of its anime content in Japan with the help of its local studio in the country. The conglomerate has a studio in Japan which has been operational since 2011. Through this studio, WBD has produced and dropped over 80 titles in Japan, containing a blend of high-quality anime projects, live-action movies, and shows.
Warner Bros Discovery President of the Asia-Pacific region, James Gibbons, has revealed that the company has been delivering from 5-10 anime shows every year in Japan since the local studio became operational. “We’ve approved expansion to take that to more than 10 series per year.”
WBD has released different anime projects in Japan in the last decade to attract the attention of the region’s diehard anime fans. Some of the most prominent projects are the “Batman Ninja” anime movie, “Record of Ragnarok” anime series, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”, which came out as an anime series in 2012.
