This summer Warner Bros South Asia prepared a great deal for kids, because Pogo channel is going to launch cartoons like “Chota Bheem” , “Little Singham”, “Jai Jagannath” and Animes like “My Hero Academia” and “One Piece”.
Uttam Pal Singh, head of the kids’ cluster, South Asia, Warner Bros Discovery said,
“As a legacy global company we have a huge library of global content. And the Indian audience, which is also huge in number, gives us an opportunity to connect with them and cater to them with stories and characters which are very locally focused”.
“Jai Jagannath” is an Indian animation where we see the reincarnation of Hindu Lord Jagannath as “Jagan” and his disciple Balram’s adventures.
Alongside “My Hero Academia” season 4, an American series “Teen Titan Go” is also going to take place in Indian television .
As India is a diverse country, and language is a big factor and some regions in India have a very strong affinity to their mother tongue, so starting from last year they expanded their language from three to now seven languages.
They introduced Anime in this new plan because Anime is a huge phenomenon, and it can connect not only childrens but also adults. WBD made a partnership with Toei Animation, whose “One Piece” and “Dragon Ball” are big successes for Cartoon Network.
WBD is listening to their audience via social media, and including more cartoons to connect with the childrens more so that they can expand their range throughout India.
