It is hard to be a Star Wars fan! Right? They love the iconic space opera franchise with all their heart. But they also criticise it the most if a bad product comes out. The Sequel trilogy has contributed a lot to the latter scenario. But thanks to ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Andor’ for literally saving the franchise. And the ongoing ‘Ahsoka’ live-action Disney+ series, starring Rosario Dawson, has received a positive response from critics. Speaking of Star Wars, how about you all try watching one of the best entries in the franchise? Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)!
Rogue One tells the tale of a group of Rebels who try to steal the plans for the ultimate Death Star, a planet-destroying superweapon designed by the Galactic Empire. Jyn Erso, the daughter of Galen Erso, becomes a part of the team, which encompasses Rebels with different skills and backgrounds. Galen also serves as one of the leading scientists for the Empire, who secretly leaves a significant weakness in the Death Star. The film shows the bravery displayed by the Rebels group and the sacrifices they make to complete their dangerous mission against all odds.
The film is darker than all the Star Wars entries that came before it. The visuals and action sequences received significant praise from critics and fans. Felicity Jones (Jyn) and Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) perform brilliantly in this one. In addition, Michael Giacchino’s musical score and Gareth Edwards’ direction received praise, too. However, some fans have openly shared their disapproval of digital recreations of Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing.
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ has a rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 462 reviews. It stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, and more. Stream it on Disney+ Hotstar.
