World Pizza Day is celebrated across the globe every year on 9th February in order to celebrate the mouth-watering and tasty delicacy – Pizza. We are talking about the 2012 low budget Tamil film interestingly titled ‘Pizza’. On Indian OTT, ‘Pizza’ is streaming on the Disney Plus Hotstar and Sun NXT OTT platforms. And in case you missed watching the film for some reason, here’s why you should watch it.
‘Pizza’ is a supernatural thriller movie which features the super talented performer Vijay Sethupathy in the role of a pizza delivery boy Michael. The protagonist lives with his love interest and budding horror fiction writer Anu (played by Ramya Nambeesan), who reveals one day that she is pregnant. The couple decides to tie the knot soon, but the goings-on take a U-turn after Michael goes to a bungalow for a regular pizza delivery but gets entangled in a mysterious turn of events.
‘Pizza’ was directed by Karthik Subbaraj (Mahaan, Jagame Thandhiram) in his feature film directorial debut. The success and widespread critical response for the film led to a sequel and a Hindi language remake of the same name. After starring in ‘Pizza’, the film’s lead actor Vijay Sethupathy became one of the most in-demand actors in the Tamil film industry.
