Kannada Film Industry aka Sandalwood is on a row. Post the historic success of KGF franchise, Hombale Films has attained a huge pan-Indian reputation. Besides people started watching more Kannada films as well. Adding to that many older Kannada classics are being added to streaming libraries too. One such exceptional addition and also a weekend recommendation is the 2016 Kannada film ‘Rama Rama Re’.
This Road-trip movie is now streaming on Zee5 India. Directed by D Satya Prakash, the film released on 21st October 2016. Satya Prakash has penned both story and screenplay of the film. The film follows the story of a convict on a death row, who escapes from prison and accidentally ends up traveling with a retired veteran of a Police Department, who is called upon by the authorities to teach the process of executing a convict to the new staff.
Rama Rama Re is one of Kannada Industry’s classics of previous decade. The film boasts of an IMDB rating of 8.2/10. Not only did the film open to positive reviews back then, but was also tagged as an unmissable film on life and death. The film was remade in Telugu in 2018 as Aatagadharaa Siva and a Marathi remake is currently in progress. For far too long the film wasn’t available on any platform for streaming. Since Zee5 is streaming the film right now, Rama Rama Re makes up for a worthy weekend watch!
