Raj and D.K’ s most famous work is definitely ‘The Family Man’, but there is more to their filmography than that. There are films that are not talked about very often. Raj and D.K’s film ‘Shor In The City’ falls under that list of underrated gems. ‘Shor In The City‘ is a wonderful drama that catches the nerve of the city of Mumbai.
It is written and directed by the famous pair Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. The cast includes actors like Sendhil Ramamurthy, Tusshar Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Preeti Desai, Sundeep Kishan, Pitobash, Radhika Apte and Girija Oak.
It tells the story of five different people and how they are surrounded by various problems. There is one character who is constantly being troubled by extortionists and does not get any help from the police. Another boy wants to be a cricketer and needs a huge amount of money to be able to enter the team. One guy steals merchandise from cars by the road and sells them at a huge price. One day they get some guns and explosives in a stolen bag. The stories are intertwined with each other and it comes to a full circle by the end.
The film did not do much of a business at the time of its release in 2011 but it got the attention of cinephiles long after.
The cinematography is pretty good and it is handled by Tushar Kanti Ray. The music is composed by Sachin–Jigar and Harpreet. It is a terrific crime thriller and should not be missed at any cost.
