The recent games for the Warner Bros. studio are mostly a mixed bag of reactions. The games like Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League were very badly received, primarily because the game was ruining the legacy of the best gaming series to come out of Warner Bros., which was the Arkham series. The Mortal Kombat series too recently got a reboot, and the sales were not necessarily the best.
All of this calls for a change, and Warner Bros. is ready for it. The company is moving forward, with a core focus on the most profitable franchises and intellectual properties. The company will focus on the four core franchises, namely the Batman games, Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones.
The industry is full of Batman titles, and it never seems to run dry. However, luckily for Warner Bros., it never causes redundancy and boredom, as the fans never seem to get bored of the Dark Knight across any media. The company will also focus on undoing the damage of SS:KTJ as a Batman Arkham VR game is already out. The Harry Potter brand also has some heavy titles to its name. The games like Hogwarts Legacy and the Quidditch game were very well received.
The new DLCs for MK1 are doing well too. It is to be seen what the studio cooks up for GOT, but the hype of the new movie in works is definitely a bankable opportunity. It is overall a good decision to allocate the funds to the tested and tested products after the downtime WB has seen with the loss of $417 million last year.
