Martin Scorsese, acclaimed filmmaker that he is, ruffled a lot of feathers last year when he proclaimed that Marvel movies are not cinema but “theme parks”. Die-hard Marvel fans were immediately up in arms, coz for them, the MCU is not just cinema, it’s an emotion.
Now, a film editor named Quang Truong has delivered precise proof of why Marvel movies affect fans around the globe in the way they do. Truong has constructed a luminous, almost 5-minute video called “It’s Just A Superhero Movie”, which includes some of the most poignant moments of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
The video captures the breathtaking emotions from the MCU that have moved fans time and again, catching them unawares, more than the humour and unadulterated action sequences that Marvel movies are known for.
