Iconic American television writer and producer, David Simon, is coming back on HBO. The creator of the iconic ‘The Wire’ show has geared up to deliver another sensational HBO series, We Own This City, to the tv viewers. It is a six-episode miniseries based on the novel of the same name, penned down by Justin Fenton, a prominent reporter of the Baltimore Sun. And the duo of David Simon and George Pelecanos developed the novel’s plot into a show.
The trailer of ‘We Own This City’ series came out some days ago. And it showed many actors from ‘The Wire’ like Delaney Williams and Domenick Lombardozzi. They both portrayed the characters of Jay Landsman and Herc respectively in that legendary series. Apart from these familiar faces, the rest of the cast has Jon Bernthal, Wunmi Mosaku, Jamie Hector, McKinley Belcher III, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Josh Charles, and many more.
The forthcoming HBO miniseries will focus on the highs and lows of the Baltimore Police Department and its Gun Trace Task Force. This group of cops gets accused of corruption and ill-treatment of black people in the city. For those of you who don’t know, the Baltimore PD has earned a bad reputation for itself over the years. No doubt that this department is one of the most controversial police departments in the United States.
‘We Own This City’ miniseries will premiere on the HBO channel on April 25th. The sixth and final episode of the show will arrive on May 30th. But sadly, this channel is not available in India right now. But the majority of hit HBO shows are available on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming service. Indian viewers may get the forthcoming HBO show on the OTT platform soon if not on its global release date. Stay tuned for more updates.
