Star of the 2005 superhit ‘Wedding Crashers’, Vince Vaughn has announced that a sequel for the same is officially in the works. He, his frequent collaborator and co-star Owen Wilson and the ‘Crashers’ director David Dobkin have been actively discussing about the sequel and have settled on an idea that is “pretty good” for a plotline for the highly anticipated sequel (people didn’t know about it, but it was anticipated all the same).
‘Wedding Crashers’ is about a duo of divorce mediators who crash weddings in an attempt to woo and seduce women. It was one of the first films in the early 2000s to revive the adult comedy genre which also starred Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher and Bradley Cooper in prominent roles.
The actor confirmed this while doing a press tour for his upcoming slasher-horror comedy ‘Freaky’. The sequel is still at the very early stages, but the team has been actively discussing the potential script. The 50-year old comedy veteran also reminisced on his previous roles in other films like ‘Zoolander’ and ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’ during the interview. They were fun to make, says the actor and it was also fun to work with other funny men to make others laugh.
‘Freaky’ is about a young teenage highschooler who has a run-in with a serial killer and ends up switching bodies with him. Now the girl has to run around and find her actual body (which the serial killer’s soul is residing in) and stop the killer from going on a mad killing spree. He stars opposite Kathryn Newton in this funny “Freaky Friday-meets-Friday-the-13th” type film.
‘Wedding Crashers’ can be currently streamed online on Netflix.
