Aarya
Where to watch: Disney+Hotstar
Our review: Aarya

Created by filmmaker Ram Madhvani of Neerja fame, Aarya marks the return of Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen after a gap of five years. She was last seen in Bengali movie Nirbaak. The web series also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sikandar Kher, Ankur Bhatia and Namit Das among others. A feminist drama, it depicts the tale of a woman who takes charge of the family business and kids after her husband’s death. If you’re in the mood for some high power action and a dose of former MS Universer we’d say dive in.

Your Honour
Where to watch: SonyLIV
Our review: Your Honor

Adapted from the Israeli series Kvodo, this 12-episode show is a treat in terms of performances by Jimmy Shergill, Mita Vashisht and Pulkit Makol. The story unfolds as a judge from Ludhiana loses his honour and sense of judgement when his only son gets involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Penguin
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Our review: Penguin

The film has been garnering a lot of mixed reviews and we’d say you should watch it to form your own opinion. Keerthy Suresh’s performance is perhaps the biggest USP of this thriller. Made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, the mystery-thriller is among the films that have taken the direct-to-OTT route during the lockdown owing to coronavirus pandemic.

Kadakh
Where to watch: SonyLIV
Our review: Kadakh

A promising story about the protagonist Sunil (Ranvir Shorey) who gets disturbed by the arrival of Raghav (Chandrachoor Rai) to his flat. At first, Sunil has no clue who he is, but soon things get clear to him. Raghav is the husband of Chhaya (Palomi Ghosh), with whom he is having an affair in his office. The cast members – Kalki Kochlin and Rajat Kapoor – will make you want to check out the drama.

Chaman Bahar
Where to watch: Netflix

If you managed to watch Axone on Netflix last week, then you might know that Chaman Bahaar is the second movie created by Yoodle Productions. The film features Jitendra Kumar, of Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan fame, in the lead as the owner of a roadsise pan-bidi shop. He falls in love with a pretty girl living across the street. However, he is not the only one. In fact, his shop becomes the hub for all of the roadside romeos who like this girl. While we adore Jitendra Kumar’s acting chops, this movie comes across as a little tone-deaf like Kabir Singh. So if this is your pick among all the new shows and movies to watch on Netflix, here’s a trigger warning from our side.

Bonus: You’ll also find Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys for Life on Amazon Prime Video and The Politician Season 2 on Netflix streaming this weekend.
