Wesley Snipes has poked fun at MCU’s Blade, which has been in development since July 2019. The Mahershala Ali starrer has lost Yann Demange as its helmer recently. Demange was Marvel Studios’ second choice for the superhero project after Bassam Tariq, who left the project in 2022 due to scheduling conflicts. Now, Demange is no longer attracted to the movie, leaving its fate hanging on a thread.
OG Blade Wesley Snipes shaded the MCU reboot after Demange left the film. This is what he tweeted:

Fans don’t know why Demange left MCU’s Blade. However, Marvel has commenced the search for a new helmer. We should not ignore the odds of the reboot facing another release delay as well.
Is Marvel Studios trying too hard to make a perfect Blade movie? Well, we don’t know the answer to that. But we expect the production house to honour the original Blade trilogy, starring Wesley Snipes, in the best possible way.
Ali’s Blade debuted in the MCU via a voice cameo in Eternals (2021). We watched Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman talking to Ali’s Blade in the movie’s post-credits scene. Nearly three years have passed since Eternals’ release and we are yet to witness Blade in another MCU project.
Rebooting Blade shouldn’t be this hard for Marvel. The original trilogy (1998-2004) had its problems, but it was entertaining in every way. Most importantly, it kept things simple and smooth, from storylines and performances to action sequences. A character like Blade does not need to share his ties with the Multiverse. Instead, the reboot should focus primarily on the vampire-superhero’s origin story and try to strengthen his place in the MCU.
