After having a superb box office run, the Bengali film ‘Bohurupi’ will now have a theatrical release in Bangladesh. It is still going through the procedural censoring and will come out in theaters soon. The word of mouth has spread out and it has pretty good chances there too.
But there is a possibility of the movie being released in Bangladesh when Raihan Rafi’s film ‘Damal’ will hit the theaters. Raihan Rafi’s last film ‘Toofan’ was a big hit and drew quite a large number of audiences in Bengal as well. It even managed a dubbed release in Pakistan. So if Raihan Rafi’s next film, which will obviously be laden with stars, clashes with Bohurupi, it will be difficult for both the films. Bohurupi had survived a tough clash with Tekka and Shashtri but clashing with a Bangladeshi film in Bangladesh might not work out very well altogether.
Also, there is a possibility that the movie might be released in some other countries as well. As odd as it might seem, ‘Toofan’ got a release in Pakistan and Bohurupi too can manage a release there with a dubbed version.
The movie is making pathbreaking steps which are re-establishing the old gaze towards bengal cinema and in a few years there will be more stories that will cater to the national and international audiences alongside the Bengali audience.
