Marvel is throwing content at us one after the other. With two completed blockbuster series and one ongoing, we are being fed with Marvel content thoroughly. Besides that, today also marks the release of the much anticipated Marvel movie “Black Widow”. With that, we also have “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” and also “The Eternals”. If there wasn’t enough, Marvel has now brought to us the second trailer for Marvel Studios’ first animated series “What If..?”
The trailer, if we must say, is really interesting. Why you may ask? Well, simply because it’s weird to see an alternate reality other than the one we have been seeing with Marvel movies that have been released over the period of 13 years. So, if you still don’t know, “What If…?” focuses on an alternate reality of major Marvel episodes that are considered landmark events. It shows “what if”, this was the case instead of the one that we are being shown, which is amazing and also confusing for many at the same time.
But the only key is to watch it with a clear mind and just focus on the show and not focus on other realities. Well, the second trailer showed us many things but one thing that caught the eyes of many was a fight between Captain Carter and an octopus-like monster and now Marvel fans believe that the Octopus looking thing might actually be “Shuma-Gorath”, who again is rumored to be the main antagonist of Doctor Strange 2 a.k.a. “Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness”.
Well, with Loki, we are already looking into a lot of Multiverse things as we can see all the characters of Loki are constantly jumping from one timeline to the other. It wouldn’t be a surprise to the fans if the creators pulled off some multiverse stuff with the upcoming series. Also, this won’t be the first time a villain is appearing in the series and is also scheduled to appear in the movie. Last time, the same case was seen with The Abomination, who is the main villain for “She-Hulk” and The Abomination was seen in a clip in “Shang-Chi and The Legends of The Rings” trailer.
Now, coming back to Shuma-Gorath, it is a supernatural being that is believed to be able to travel through the multiverse. He has ruled over multiple dimensions over millennia and it will be interesting to see how he comes across in “What If…?” and then see what kind of havoc it wreaks on Doctor Strange on “Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness”
Well, like everything else in Marvel, even this is being kept as a secret by the creators and we can only find what it actually is when the 10 episodes series drops on Disney+ on August 11, 2021. As for the Doctor Strange 2 movie, it is scheduled to release in March, 2022.
