What Men want can be called a paradigm shift or spinoff of the film ‘What women want’ which was released in 2000. While the premise is the same the only thing that differs here is the role of gender and how it affects the characters who get special abilities.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to know the thoughts of the other gender? Wouldn’t it be just a little easier if you knew what they wanted rather than having to fish through their words? While this may be a curse or a gift depending on your view it certainly makes for a very interesting view.
Taraji P Henson has established herself as a stellar performer and won a lot of acclaim for critical roles. What Men want is not like many of her other projects but she shines throughout as a female sports agent who has largely been looked down upon in a male-dominated industry and how she is trying to use her newfound abilities to gain an advantage over them.
What men want does not have a lot of focus on the plot but rather the characters in it and how they tried to shed light on what goes on in the minds of the opposite gender. Taraji P Henson steals the show with her talent and acting prowess and we get a fun-filled ride with lots of enjoyable moments. You may probably remember her for her roles in Empire, Person of Interest, or the mother in the Jackie Chan and Jaden smith starrer ‘Karate Kid’.
What Men Want will be streaming on Netflix on 31st December.
