‘Raghu Dakat’ is definitely one of the most anticipated Bengali upcoming films but it is facing continuous struggles with production. And now there are rumours that makers are not going to continue with the project.
The movie is being directed by Dhrubo Bandyopadhyay and has Dev a.k.a Deepak Adhikari in the lead role. Raghu Dakat is a historical character who is very essential to Bengali cultural identity. The story of his redemption has been adapted by many authors and it has now become a part of the oeuvre of Bengali popular literature. Fans were excited when the news of a movie being made on Raghu Dakat came. But the production is facing many issues and they fear if the movie will even be made.
The director had stated earlier that Raghu Dakat was a big-budget production and there are not many movies made in Bengali in such a scale. SVF is producing the movie and as it is the biggest production house of the state, there is no reason to believe that they are running out of money for the movie. But the postponing of a movie that was announced in 2021 is frustrating for fans.
There are some who are saying the movie is now shelved for its ambitious approach, while there are other that say that it will surely be made, but not immediately.
