James Cameron‘s ‘Avatar 2’ has got movie-goers wild with anticipation at the spectacle they’ll get to see when the film finally releases this year. For the uninitiated, Disney’s Avatar 2 is slated to drop in cinemas on December 16, 2022 — 13 years after the original Avatar premiered. Since then, Avatar has become the highest-grossing film of all time, earning a staggering $2.84 billion worldwide. Avatar 2 has already got industry insiders talking about the hi-fi technology it has used in its making.
The entertainment industry is agog with the news that The Walt Disney Company will finally showcase glimpses from Avatar 2 at its presentation at the ongoing CinemaCon 2022 – the film exhibition industry’s equivalent of ComicCon. Well, now we have confirmed news for you about whether Disney will really drop the first glimpses of Avatar 2, and when.
While Disney itself is tight-lipped about dropping the hotly anticipated Avatar 2 glimpse at CinemaCon, industry insiders have confirmed that exclusive footage from the film will indeed debut at CinemaCon 2022. The glimpse could be in the form of the first trailer for Avatar 2, or Disney could release the first 10-15 minutes from the film for exclusive viewing for the attendees.
As to what time the Avatar 2 glimpse will debut at CinemaCon, The Walt Disney Company has its presentation slated at 9:45 am to 11:30 am PST on April 27. That works out to 10:15 pm – 12 midnight for Indian viewers. Disney may debut the trailer/footage right at the beginning of its presentation, or at the end for a final flourish. Expect exclusive first looks from Avatar 2 around night time in India. Of course, the Avatar 2 footage will not be released on social media any time soon. All that we can expect to see are a few stills from the film, if any.
Avatar 2 is set to release in multiple versions in theatres, to suit theatre systems around the world – high resolution, high frame rates, 3D, 4k, IMAX, PLF, different sound systems, and more. The film will be dubbed in 160 different languages, besides the original English version.
