Despite having such a stellar storyline and plot, why is “3 Body Problem” unable to ignite the sense of mystery in viewers’ minds?
Based on Liu Cixin’s trilogy “The Three Body Problem”, the series is quite impressive. But, for the fresh audience it is a tough nut to crack. The novel deals with the unearthly aliens who are coming from another solar system with three suns in it.
The gravitational force of these three bodies are creating chaos in the cosmos. The aliens want to invade earth and take control over it. To prevent this action, a group of people are helping the aliens and another group is revolting against it.
The story delves deep into the mind bending space and time works which was quite problematic for the audiences to understand, coming from the creators of “Game Of Thrones”, it was quite a bad experience, as they were unable to showcase the authenticity of the story.
Now, the time bending genre is not a new topic in the world of Netflix, series like “Dark” and “1899”, although both of them have the same creator, but it is not a tough job to complete in the first go.
The series “Dark ” has a way more complex plot than “3 Body Problem” but, the audience loved the series throughout all the season because of its approach in the storytelling. Their story tiptoed through the audience’s heart just by keeping a whole another level of cliffhangers.
Similar thing happened with “1899” the first episode was so captivating that the audience were awestruck, starting from the names of the two sister ships till the search for anonymous, and sudden deaths were woven in such intricate way, that there is no way that the audiences are going to be bored and be unable to keep up with the storyline.
But, “3 Body Problem” failed in this very part, as they have such a big epic story, that before even establishing the whole setting, they jumped into the plot.
Furthermore, the whole ruckus created a big facade in China as they claimed that the series is showing the whole nation in a wrong light.
