It is not every day that your partner (read: wife) frames you for her murder in the aftermath of catching you cheating red-handed. Emmy and Golden Globe awardee English actress Rosamund Pike did just that. Well, of course not in actuality. She played the aforementioned wife in David Fincher’s critically acclaimed film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling thriller novel ‘Gone Girl’.
Since then, Pike has gone on to star in titles like ‘Saltburn’, ‘I Care A Lot’, ‘Jack Reacher’, ‘The Wheel of Time’, and more. Moreover, she has cemented herself as the face of psychologically twisted characters with her eerily calm yet erratic portrayal of them. Although next up for her are highly awaited projects like ‘In The Grey’ and ‘Now You See Me 3’, she has been attached to yet another one!
Pike is in talks to star in a ‘House of Cards’-esque thriller set in the midst of the bustling lanes of Silicon Valley. A little background: the highly acclaimed political drama thriller show ‘House of Cards’ follows a Democrat who along with his wife, sets out on a quest for revenge against the people who betrayed him while rising to supremacy.
Whether the project will cast Pike as a one-person-army democrat in pursuit of power, or a politician with up-to-no-good goals of her own, is yet to be cleared. Either way, however, the project seems to have garnered quite the buzz as streaming giants Netflix, HBO, and Amazon, among others, have already shown interest in acquiring it.
