Eliminate the last season of Game Of Thrones, and you will have one perfect TV show, and talk about their Spin-offs; people do show ample amounts of love. The creators cooked up House of Dragon, and it is undoubtedly a tasty dish.
An adaptation of Fire and Blood, House of Dragon did manage to create some major waves in the OTT space. With an 8.5 rating on IMDb, House of Dragons focused on the Targaryen side of events.
In Season 1, the Targaryen dynasty faces internal strife as King Viserys I names his daughter Rhaenyra heir, deviating from male preference. Courtly factions, led by House Velaryon and House Hightower, vie for power, complicating matters.
Meanwhile, Viserys’s brother Daemon pursues his own ambitions, setting the stage for a precarious era in Westeros amid a seemingly golden age.
The first season of the series started streaming on August 21, 2022, and it was an injection of entertainment each week. As fans were majorly skeptical about the ending of the mother show, House Of Dragon didn’t let the failure affect itself.
It even registered two Golden Globe and several Emmy nominations, and the success continues as amidst that, Matt Smith creates waves of speculations about the possible release date.
In a BBC interview, as he was asked about the probable release period, he stated, “August, I think… this summer, yeah. I’ve not seen any of it yet, but we finished last year. So we’ve gotta do all the ADR and all that business.”
Also talking about the success of the first season, the star stated, “relief… you sort of try to make things in your own identity, I suppose. It was a relief that people seemingly enjoyed it. Fingers crossed, we gotta keep going – you never know.”
The series is currently streaming on JioCinema, and with recent deals, for the upcoming seasons, that will definitely be the destination.
