The Continental will arrive on our TV sets barely two weeks from today! The first episode of The Continental premieres in the US on 22nd September, 2023.
For those who don’t know, The Continental is the much-awaited John Wick spinoff series, centred on the notorious hotel, The Continental, scene of many a fight, brawl and action set-piece in the John Wick movies. Over three explosive episodes, the series will recount the origin story of The Continental.
The Continental is a Peacock TV original, and will premiere on Peacock TV in the US. Since we don’t have Peacock TV in India, John Wick fans in the country are wondering where to watch The Continental in India. Streaming giant Prime Video has grabbed the worldwide streaming rights for The Continental. The series will therefore stream on Prime Video globally, except for the US, Middle East and Israel. In the US, The Continental will stream on Peacock TV.
The three-part action event series will premiere with one episode, and the remaining two episodes will premiere in subsequent weeks. The series is slated to release on 22nd September 2023 worldwide, including in India.
The highly anticipated series ‘The Continental’ is set in the ‘John Wick’ universe, and is a prequel series to the exceptionally successful, blockbuster movie franchise. ‘The Continental’ will be centred on the notoriously exclusive hotel from the John Wick movies.
The Continental will star Colin Woodell, Mel Gibson, Ayomide Adegun, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate and Peter Greene, in pivotal roles. The prequel series will tell the story from the point of view of subtly discreet hotel manager Winston Scott, portrayed by Ian McShane in the film franchise.
The Continental will feature a younger version of the manager, to be played by Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant); and will follow Winston through the underworld of ‘70’s New York, where he will battle demons from his past as he attempts to seize control of the iconic hotel – a hotel that serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.
The cast of The Continental includes Mel Gibson as Cormac; Ayomide Adegun as a younger version of Charon; Ben Robson as Frankie; Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles; Jessica Allain as Lou; Mishel Prada as KD; Nhung Kate (The Housemaid) as Yen; and Peter Greene (Training Day) as a young Uncle Charlie, the tight-lipped body disposal expert in the John Wick universe.
The 3-part series will recount the events of the story over three nights. Albert Hughes directs the first and third nights, and Charlotte Brandstrom directs the second night. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward are the writers and showrunners on The Continental. Shawn Simmons is also writer and executive producer on the show.
