When will “The Family Man 2” Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions release on Amazon Prime Video? We think, never!
It’s been more than two months since The Family Man Season 2 released on Amazon Prime Video. The platform had promised that this time it would do the unthinkable – it would release The Family Man 2 in Tamil and Telugu too at the time of the premiere. But alas, it was too much to hope that Amazon Prime Video would stick to its promise. Everyone knows that the platform has an abysmal record in releasing dubbed versions of its most popular shows.
The Family Man 2 is the hottest and most adored of all Indian web shows put together. A massive percentage of its dedicated fans comprises of Telugu and Tamil viewers. But Amazon Prime, in its wisdom — or lack of it — simply refuses to acknowledge the needs of this very significant demographic of viewers. Even two months after the premiere of The Family Man 2, the streaming platform has not launched Tamil and Telugu audio versions of the show. This despite a gazillion requests from Southern state viewers to release The Family Man 2 with audio in other Indian languages. The requests have gone unheeded — they are simply water off a duck’s back.
It has happened numerous times with Amazon Prime Video. It had released Mirzapur in Tamil and Telugu after several weeks of release, and after much nagging from social media users. It has still not released the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions for Tandav. Looks like The Family Man 2 will go the way of all those popular Amazon Prime shows for which the platform has still not released Tamil and Telugu audios – Tandav, Panchayat, Bandish Bandits, and God knows how many more.
Weirdly enough, Amazon Prime Video has recently released several foreign shows and films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi audios – Jolt, The Tomorrow War, Brazilian show DOM, among others. Is it too much to ask for Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of a homegrown show – a show created and nurtured in our very own country?
We don’t think so.
And neither should Amazon Prime Video.
