Time and time again, it has been proved that the current times are incredibly turbulent for the film industry. Not only has 2024 witnessed months without the release of any anticipated titles, the months that have brought along with them releases, have often witnessed box-office clashes.
Such has been the case with November, as well. Not only did it begin with the much-awaited BO clash between ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, there are two more clashes upcoming. While one of these clashes will be amongst the Suriya starrer ‘Kanguva’, the Telugu period action drama ‘Matka’, as well as the Kannada neo noir action thriller ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’, the other clash will be amongst Hindi-language titles.
Shoojit Sircar’s ‘I Want To Talk’, the Tripti Dimri – Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer ‘Dhadak 2’, as well as Ajay Devgn’s much-delayed project ‘Naam’, are all slated to release theatrically on November 22. Another aspect that all three titles have in common is the largely lukewarm promotion being done for all of them!
With only a week left for their theatrical release, one would expect promotions for all three titles to be in full swing. However, not only is that not the case, it seems as though there is barely any widespread online hype for either.
While ‘I Want To Talk’ will succeed in drawing audiences familiar with Sircar’s nuanced storytelling, are the latter two solely banking on the recent successes of the star cast to keep their upcoming titles afloat?
