The victory song of A24 is going on and going on strong. From their experimental plots to the great quality, it’s delicious written all over it and The Iron Claw was one such product. Though wrestling films aren’t something revolutionary, A24 did make something phenomenal out of it. And now, it will soon be available to stream through OTT platforms.
Talking about the theatrical run, the film was not only decorated with one of the most positive reviews of a sports film. Even the box-office numbers have been quite fascinating; the 2023 film had a budget of $15.9M and grossed $43.2M. Talking about the online ratings, it also delivers.
With a 7.7 on IMDb and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Iron Claw definitely has a good grip on the audience. But then comes the question, where to stream it?
Thankfully, a small chunk of the Indian audience got an opportunity to be a part of the theatrical run, but it was too short-lived as the advertisement was really poor. Despite this, it might get a good boost on the online space, especially as A24 is making an attempt to dive into more wrestling-themed films.
Max is the OTT partner for The Iron Claw and for the global audience, it will start streaming from May 10th. For the Indian audience, JioCinema might be the destination as they have a deal with Max, but there is no official confirmation just yet.
But as usual, JioCinema might delay the release, which isn’t really a good thing anyway. Plus, people are still skeptical about the subscription plans.
