This Friday, a large number of movies will be released throughout India. Be it in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi or the International films. But almost all of the movies are small budget films and don’t showcase a lot of potential to dominate the box office. We could have expected pan India domination. But unfortunately, no Hindi movie is releasing this week. In this scenario it becomes quite difficult to decipher which film can prove to dominate the box office this weekend?
There are some bleak chances for Vaazhai and Footage in this respect. Both of the films feature in the list of most anticipated Indian movies in IMDB. They have quite a fanbase in their respective languages and are sure to dominate the theatres in Tamil and Kannada languages respectively.
On the other hand, the release of Demonte Colony 2 in Telugu dubs too gives it an edge. The movie is already breaking records in Tamil, and most probably will be received very well by the Telugu population as well. The film has been the topic of conversation since last week and is setting eyes on bigger and bigger targets. Its already successful venture in Tamil language will give it a push to its Telugu release and the movie is sure to do well.
In the third option we have Alien: Romulus. It is an English movie so it will reach a larger audience as compared to the regional cinema. But the movie has one issue. It doesn’t have a big hype around it. Many people aren’t even aware of the movie and hence the movie can’t expect the treatment Deadpool and Wolverine is getting right now. But being the movie with the widest audience, and with its competitor The Crow’s release postponed, the movie can expect decent income from India.
Finally, the most accurate bet would be on Vaazhai. Although it is a lesser anticipated movie than Footage, still Footage’s experimental presentation may face the risk of less audience returning again for the movie. Whereas the clearer movie Vaazhai will be more direct and more understandable for the audience.
