If you are looking forward to watching White Lotus Season 3 or Welcome to Derry (the highly anticipated ‘It’ prequel series) next year, then you have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on either one of these shows. A grain of salt is recommended.
Both White Lotus Season 3 and Welcome to Derry have been pushed back to 2025. “‘Welcome to Derry,’ we had had that scheduled for Halloween of 2024. That’s likely 2025. ‘White Lotus’ Season 3 probably would have been in play for 2024, it’s 2025,” said Casey Bloys, CEO and chairman of Max’s and HBO’s content.
Bloys also revealed that the above-mentioned change resulted due to the writers’ strike and the ongoing actors’ strike.
Written and created by Mike White, White Lotus has become one of the best HBO shows in recent years. Both of its seasons have received acclaim from fans and critics. The dark comedy anthology series got renewed for Season 3 in November last year. It has bagged two Golden Globes and ten Emmys so far.
Emerging straight from the world of Andy Muschietti’s ‘It’ films (based on Stephen King’s novels), Welcome to Derry will serve as a prequel. It was supposed to arrive on Max next year. However, it has a new release window now. The series stars Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Taylour Paige, James Remar, Madeleine Stowe, and Stephen Rider. HBO greenlighted it in February this year. Jason Fuchs will serve as the series’ writer. And Muschietti will helm multiple episodes of the show.
Both White Lotus Season 3 and Welcome to Derry are expected to be released on Jio Cinema for Indian viewers. Stay tuned for more updates.
