Star Wars is undoubtedly one of the greatest franchises in the history of Hollywood. ‘A galaxy far, far away’ has given fans numerous iconic characters, like Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker), Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Din Djarin, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and more. Even C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8, and other famous droids have earned immense respect and love from the fanbase. But there is one character who has gone through all. And now, she has her own live-action series in the form of a Disney+ Series. Yup, we are talking about Ahsoka.
From facing a significant amount of hate to gaining the respect of the Star Wars fanbase, Ahsoka Tano has indeed travelled a long journey in the franchise. The character debuted in the space opera franchise through the hit animated series, The Clone Wars. She became a highly-skilled and powerful Jedi under Anakin’s guidance.
However, Ahsoka’s character arc made a significant shift after she decided to leave the Jedi Order after getting falsely accused of bombing the Jedi Temple. This made her question the Jedi’s principles and methods, as well as their motives during The Clone Wars. As a result, she left the order. Her decision to leave the Jedi Order showcased her resilience and added more depth to her character, enabling her to seek a greater understanding of the ways of the Force.
Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka appeared first in The Mandalorian Season 2. Now, the actress will carry the white lightsaber again in the upcoming Disney+ series. This time, we will also see Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader. Many online rumours have teased Ahsoka encountering Anakin’s Force ghost in the show. Though, Lucasfilm has yet to confirm this.
Apart from Anakin, many notable characters from ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will also appear in ‘Ahsoka’ series, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn (played by Lars Mikkelsen), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and many more. All these scenarios indicate that the show will bring different eras of the Star Wars universe together, from Clone Wars to Rebels.
Ahsoka Disney+ series will premiere on August 23. Stay tuned for more updates.
