In the history of Indian cinema, there are a few examples that can match Adipurush in terms of unanimous trolling. With the first teaser coming last year, the makers were forced to postpone the movie by several months. With less than 10 days remaining for the film, a serious question lurks after the whole promotional campaign of the film.
Why are the makers hiding Saif Ali Khan?
The actor is extremely talented and has played a lot of tremendously powerful characters in Hindi cinema. He is playing one of the three leads in the film. And after all, the story of Shri Ram can never be completed without Raavan.
In the first trailer and the final trailer released yesterday, makers have shown only the disguise of Raavan when he kidnapped Seeta. Mind you, Raavan was deliberately dressed as a sage to trick Seeta.
Other than that, makers have successfully hidden the actor from Adipurush SO FAR. Saif Ali Khan’s look in the film was brutally trolled as he looked less like Raavan and more like an Islamic invader. Sharp beard and hair are anything but the look people associate Raavan with.
Looks like the makers were unsuccessful in changing the look of Saif without reshooting. Mind you, reshooting would have cost a lot more money and time.
But the even bigger question… will it help? How long can the makers hide this? After all, people going to the theaters will anyway reject the look.
Let’s wait to see the fate of Adipurush. So far, it doesn’t look promising.
