Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva is streaming on DisneyPlus. Mark it that we are not talking about Disney+Hotstar. The film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna had a massive buzz in India.
But the same is not replicating in American territory. But before we go into that, there’s a little history that needs to be considered. Firstly the Disney bundle consists of DisneyPlus, Hulu, and ESPN. So when the merger of DisneyPlus happened with Hotstar then there was something evident.
Indian content available on Disney+Hotstar would go on Hulu and DisneyPlus would contain strictly Disney-type content. So the coming of Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva on DisneyPlus is more than mere streaming.
It is in fact the first Indian film to start streaming on DisneyPlus. But if we see the charts then Brahmāstra failed to barge into the trending list of the platform. Unlike RRR, Brahmāstra couldn’t earn appreciation from the Americans.
Also, the story, action, or even the visuals were not something that would be appealing to the western world. But even after these things, it is indeed Brahmāstra’s achievement that it came on DisneyPlus.
It will give great exposure to the film which is ultimately and always good.
