We talked about how Indian Predator: The Butcher Of Delhi is continuously trending on Netflix India but is still not that successful in comparison to their previous crime documentary House Of Secrets: The Burari Deaths.
Today Netflix released the viewing stats of the previous week and the data reflects the same.
The condition of the original Indian series on Netflix is so pathetic that there are only two series on the list, the others are all foreign titles.
Regardless, Indian Predator: The Butcher Of Delhi is not a bad series per se. It is a really good and haunting series that is near perfect according to the standards of a documentary.
So why did it fail to leave an impact?
This answer has multiple factors.
Firstly, Indian Predator: The Butcher Of Delhi was not as recent an event as The House Of Secrets.
The latter event was still fresh in the memory of the audience while Indian Predator is based on a series of crimes that happened in 2006. So people had more or less forgotten the horror which thundered in 2006.
Secondly, it is crystal clear that Netflix didn’t put much effort into promoting the series. There were very few social media posts let alone a proper campaign that follow their usual feature series.
Thirdly and most importantly, the content of House Of Secrets revolved around a family which pushed itself into suicide. Which is leaps and bounds more chilling than Indian Predator: The Butcher Of Delhi. Thus these factors pushed the documentary down and Manifest got benefitted but the documentary is a good one-time watch nonetheless.
