Blonde, a biopic on legendary actress Marylin Monroe is now streaming on Netflix India. The film is a surprising treat as the critics were divided. While some critics sang praises for Ana De Armas, some bashed the overall screenplay which indeed has too many toxic elements.
But after all the odds, Blonde was indeed a buzzy title and it had the potential of soaring high. Especially when an Indian film as pathetic as Plan A Plan B is streaming then an above-average film like Blonde certainly gets the edge of being better.
But, unfortunately, things are not going that well. Although Blonde is trending in the fourth position, it is succeeded by erotica called After Ever Happy.
This is indeed surprising and the credit goes to the not so great campaign by Netflix India. Had they put less than half the effort than they did in the case of The Gray Man then things would turn out differently.
Also, it’s a joke fine enough in itself that practically unknown erotica like After Ever Happy is doing magically well by trending in the third position.
But whatever the case may be, Blonde is certainly an average to decent film which has great potential. But alas, the same mysterious selectivity killed the potential.
