One of the biggest films of 2024 has to be Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD. The movie is made on a humongous budget and the star cast is huge too. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Disha Patani and more are gracing the film.
So far, the first look and the promo of Amitabh Bachchan look good too. But something’s really wrong with the film. It is not even filling the basic pattern of making buzz. Just imagine, this mammoth of a film, made on an astounding budget is being lazy with the promotions.
We do realise that makers want to put everything into marketing at the last time. And it is pretty understandable too. This formula worked like bonkers for Jawan.
But, let’s acknowledge something. What worked for Jawan will not work for Kalki in 2898 AD. Unlike Jawan, it is an experimental movie that needs to convince people to watch it. Given the track record of Prabhas films, things look very pessimistic but you never know when something amazing is waiting for you.
As of now, there is no trailer, no teaser, no nothing apart from the Amitabh Bachchan clip. The release date is very very near, i.e. the 9th of May and the makers ought to buckle and hurry up.
