We do not know much about James Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi mega-budget project, Avatar 2. But any sensible moviegoer can figure out that this sequel will be better than the 2009’s entry. Why? Well, there is no doubt in admitting that the first movie treasured mesmerising and groundbreaking visuals. Additionally, its action sequences were nothing short of spectacular. However, it badly needed a strong storyline. The entire plot seemed very straightforward. But the Titanic helmer has a golden opportunity to undo all the wrongs of the first movie in the forthcoming sequel.
Various reports have confirmed that the plot of Avatar 2 will be more detailed and complex than the previous one. The second part’s story takes place many years later after the events of the 2009 film. Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) have become parents of three children now: Neteyam, Lo’ak, and Tuk. The last one is the couple’s eight-year-old daughter. Plus, the couple will adopt a son named Spider in the film. Jake begins to live his life peacefully on Pandora with his family. But everything turns to chaos after the return of the RDA mining corporation and Corporal Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), who was supposed to be dead in the first film. A deadly attack forces Jake and the rest of his family to leave their home for good.
The main focus of Avatar 2’s storyline is Jake and Neytiri’s family. The first one is ready to do whatever it takes to protect his family. This entire scenario shows that the sophomore instalment will bestow more emotional depth to the viewers. Also, Jake’s family will explore new places on the planet of Pandora. Furthermore, the viewers will witness some innovative underwater sequences in the movie. Cameron wanted to develop a new technology that allowed him to shoot performance capture scenes underwater before working on this sequel. Let us inform you that this feat has never been achieved by any other filmmaker before. But the development of this revolutionary technology delayed the second part’s production on several occasions. At last, the shoot got wrapped up in September 2020. It took Cameron more than three years to film this one.
There is no denying that Avatar 2 will provide a more emotionally resonant story than the previous one in addition to bestowing insane visuals. Will it break the box office record of the first one? Only time will tell us.
