Yesterday morning, India saw the TUDUM live event organised by Netflix. We were proud of the fact that Hanumankind performed on the stage, but there is a question that needs a loud answer.
Sadly, it hasn’t got any.
Normally, when events like TUDUM or Geeked Week take place then they follow the American timing. No complaints.
But sometimes, to accommodate Indian shows and films, they also organise a mini event in India on the Indian daytime.
We waited for such an announcement in the daytime from Netflix India but there was naturally no update.
Now there is another question. India is one of the fastest-growing markets for Netflix. The platform recently crossed 10 million subscribers and it is indeed a big deal.
There are shows like Black Warrant and Heeramandi, which became such sensations, that it feels a bit unfair.
Why is there no film or series that was taken as part of the TUDUM event?
If Korean content can be there, then why not Indian content?
And this has become a recurring habit for the platform. At this point in time, let’s see when Indian platforms are deemed worthy enough for big events.
This just feels like getting sidelined and nothing else.
