Durga Puja is all about excitement and new released movies by the Bengali industry. It’s the only time when the whole industry releases some awesome movies to entertain the audience.
This year we got three movies from three different genres, one is “Bohurupi”, the other one is “Tekka” and the last one is “Shastri”.
But it seems like the battle is now between “Tekka” and “Bohurupi” only, leaving “Shastri” far behind.
Now the question arises why “Shastri” couldn’t be people’s choice?
With veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty reuniting with actress Debasree Roy, “Shastri” could have been a nice choice but the loose plotline, wrong choice of actors and bad execution left it on number three.
“Shastri” followed a story of a middle class person who is working tirelessly and hoping for a boon, and magically he gets it, and now he has this ability to predict the future.
Now in the Bengali industry, we have seen movies like that before. Movies like “Aschorjyo Prodeep” and another movie “Ami Subhash Bolchi” which was done by Mithun Chakraborty only dealt with the same issue but in a different context.
In fact in Bollywood we have movies like this. An appropriate example will be “OMG”. So “Shastri” had nothing new to offer to the audience.
On the other hand “Tekka” and “Bohurupi” provided the audience with thrill and suspense, alongside Dev Productions tried something new in the Bengali Industry to offer the audience with “Tekka”.
In “BookMyShow” it got a 7.7 rating out of 10 with 1k votes, and most of the people who have watched it credited the movie’s excellence to the director’s work.
But, the battle hasn’t ended yet, let’s see if “Shastri” can turn the tables or not.
