Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith and starring Chiyan Vikram, was released today in Hindi dubs in the Northern states of India. The film was originally released on 15th August, and it took more than three weeks for the makers to release it in Hindi. Though the hype around the film was already dulled by Stree 2 that released on the same day, and the movie itself was released only in southern regional languages, still the movie was able to cross the mark of 100 crores on the box office. But the movie slowly lost the buzz around it and before its release in Hindi dub, it was completely lost.
Initially the movie was to be released in Hindi on 30th August, but the makers postponed it to 6th September. As the movie was released the Hindi speaking audience now presented their opinions on the movie. People seem to have enjoyed the plot of the movie. The story about gold mine workers sprinkled with the spice of supernatural cooking a dish of magic realism is something the audience appreciated. Many people through social media handles also commented about the technical aspects of the film. People really enjoyed the graphics, cinematography and visuals of the film.
What attracted the people most is the brilliance of the cast and crew involved. People especially commented about the brilliant direction of Pa Ranjith to portray a live picture of the past, with special emphasis on his attention to details. People also praised the acting performances of all the actors involved, especially Vikram and Malavika. People hailed Vikram’s role as “award worthy” and the best performance of his life.
Though the film runs short in terms of business as of now; it still was praised by whoever saw the movie. It is expected that in due course of time the movie can pick up the audience and do quite a good business. Although it cannot expect a grand business considering the upcoming films in near future.
