New Hindi film releases will resume on Friday, September 13, after an extended hiatus. On that day, the Hindi and English versions of The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, will be released in theatres. The film will put an end to the lengthy run of outdated Hindi films that compelled viewers to watch reruns.
Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve and starring Sohum Shah and Mohammad Samad, will also be rereleased in theaters on the same day. When the movie was first released in 2018, it did not receive much notice and did not even come close to meeting its budget. Soon after its OTT debut, the movie received a great deal of praise and turned into a cult favorite.
Tumbbad is set to re-release in theatres after six long years and fans can’t wait for it. Sohum Shah, the lead actor in the film attended the screening for the film recently. He thanked the audience profusely for their unwavering love and support, saying that it was because of them that the movie was able to come back to theaters six years after it was first released.
The advance bookings for the film are also open and fans are thrilled about it. With most of the regions in North nearing Housefull shows, Tumbbad is ready to have a pacy start in its rerun. On the other hand, The Buckingham Murders hasn’t quite made a mark yet after its theatrical trailer came out.
The Kareena Kapoor starrer is yet to start advance booking practice with a couple of days left to release. However, the film will reach a larger audience because it will be distributed in both Hindi and English. Additionally, Hansal Mehta’s popularity will undoubtedly draw crowds to the theaters.
Even though each movie has merits of its own, Tumbbad might be one step ahead of The Buckingham Murders since it is already recognized as a masterpiece of cinema. It also has a hint of nostalgia about it. 13th September is the date when it all comes down to the theatres as a thrilling clash is in for the table between The Buckingham Murders and Tumbbad
