Ever since Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has arrived in theatres, the Indian moviegoers cannot keep their calm about it. The movie’s popularity is spreading like wildfire in the country these days. Admirers of the film are heavily trending the latest Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty starrer on prominent social media platforms. Additionally, a small budget project like this one is giving a tough competition to Prabhas’ newly released T-Series period romantic drama, Radhe Shyam, in the northern regions of the country. The former has collected more than 27 crores within the three days of its release. This box office is huge considering the small budget of the movie.
One of the latest updates about The Kashmir Files is that the movie is now available in various South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka in English subtitles. Plus, it is now playing in over 2700 theatres worldwide. Apart from its domestic prominence, the film has entered the theatres of nearly 20 countries, treasuring more than 1000 overseas shows.
The writing duo of Vivek Agnihotri and Saurabh M. Pandey took inspiration from the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the events of the Kashmiri Insurgency. A young student, Krishna Pandit (Darshan Kumar), learns more about the brutal killing of his people with the help of his professor, Radhika Menon (Pallavi Joshi). Anupam Kher portrays the character of Pushkar Nath Pandit in the film. And almost every movie review platform has praised the actor for his outstanding and heart-touching performance in the film. In other words, we can say that his performance is the ‘heart and soul’ of the movie. In addition to all the performers mentioned above, the rest of the cast including Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, and many more performed well.
It looks like Vivek Agnihotri’s second project in his Files trilogy, The Kashmir Files, will improve its theatrical performance and impact in the coming days. The film is currently playing in theatres.
