Why The Mandalorian Chapter 13 Is The Highest Rated Episode Yet

Why The Mandalorian Chapter 13 Is The Highest Rated Episode Yet

Ahsoka Tano. Grogu. These two names have exploded on twitter since November 27th 2020. That was the day Disney+ dropped the 13th chapter of ‘The Mandalorian’ and it has been the best one yet (not just according to us, but also to viewers, critics and fans). And the two above mentioned names have been a big cause for that.

First thing’s first, let us talk about Ahsoka Tano. Most fans who have just watched the movie franchise, won’t know (much) about her, but she is an extremely important character in the Star Wars Universe. She primarily appeared in the animated series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and recurrently appeared on another animated show ‘Star Wars: Rebels’.

Ahsoka Tano is a Jedi… or was a Jedi. But she was the apprentice of THE Anakin Skywalker. And that’s one of the reasons why she is so important. In the Clone Wars series, we watched her bloom from a 14 year-old padawan into a smart, strong and intelligent leader. She faced off against her fallen former master, Darth Vader in the Rebel series. And now finally after all these years we finally get to see the brilliant character in a live-action series, portrayed by the amazing Rosario Dawson. Dawson, by the way, was fan-casted, which makes this casting even more epic.

Secondly, we finally learn the name of the child that the Mandalorian has been quested with caring – Groggu. Having seen only one other of such species (possibly another one in the prequel movies, but nothing is officially confirmed yet) – Grandmaster Yoda, we have been dying to know more about Groggu – and we do in this episode. It will come as a surprise to many but Groggu is quite intelligent even though he is a baby, who was brought up in the Jedi Temple before it fell. By the way, even though Groggu is a baby, he is still around 50 years old, and that makes him older than the “adult” Ahsoka Tano.

And thirdly, we witnessed a Jedi (former but still, symbolism counts) and a Mandalorian team up for the first time in a live-action movie/series. These two, who belonged to once bitter factions, come together for the common good of a village to rescue them from the clutches of the ruthless Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth (portrayed by Diana Lee Inosanto). It is a goosebumps moment (the good kind) and that as well as the initial brief fight scene between them in the forest, is worth a watch.

Stream ‘The Mandalorian’ on Disney+Hotstar. The 6th episode of the second season, or Chapter 14 of the series will drop on 4th December 2020.
