Wicked first-look images have surfaced, thanks to Variety. They feature Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as Glinda and Elphaba, respectively. Glinda (formerly known as Galinda Upland) is a prominent young woman known for her bubbly persona and good deeds. On the other hand, Elphaba was born with green skin. She was a shy but talented student who later became the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’.
Helmed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked is the first of the two-part live-action film adaptation of the 1955 novel by Gregory Maguire. The film’s events will take place in the Land of Oz. It serves as a prequel to Maguire’s The Wizard of Oz novel.

First-look images of other characters from ‘Wicked’ have surfaced as well, featuring the rest of the movie’s cast – Jeff Goldblum (Wizard), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible), Marissa Bode (Nessarose), Ethan Slater (Boq), Bowen Yang (Pfanee), and Bronwyn James (Shenshen).
The production for Wicked commenced in June 2022. A month later, the movie’s filming began at Sky Studios in Elstree, England. The film marks Jon M. Chu’s eighth feature directional project. He is best known for his work on Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and In The Heights (2021). Wicked will arrive in theatres worldwide on November 27, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates
