Salman Khan is all over the news nowadays and definitely for all the good reasons. Salman Khan is a machine at the moment, with projects coming in one after the other. His recently released “Radhe” which saw a hybrid release, did amazingly well on the OTT platform. After the success, Salman Khan and his upcoming slate of movies have been quite a topic in the media especially with movies like “Antim”, “Tiger 3”, “Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali” and also the much-awaited announcement on “Master” Hindi remake.
Keeping all this in mind, news has come in that Salman Khan has now started his shooting schedule back on with Mahesh Manjrekar’s “Antim”. Salman Khan has started his work on Antim starting today. The shoot will be a four-day patchwork, where the first two days will be shot at the Kamalistan Studio. The other two have been scheduled to be shot at Salman Khan’s bungalow in Byculla. Salman Khan plays the role of Sikh cop in the movie along with his brother-in-law and young actor Aayush Sharma.
Antim is the Hindi remake of the hit Marathi film “Mulshi Pattern”, which is based on true events that occurred in Mulshi, Pune. As for the Hindi remake, it will also follow the same route and tell the story of the farmers who sell off their lands at lower prices and end up in seriously scary conditions. The movie reportedly stars Aayush Sharma as a gangster.
Back in December 2020, Salman Khan released the first look of the movie through his social media and announced that he will be starring in this action-packed movie. Given the story and what Mahesh Manjrekar is capable of, the movie will definitely be something to look out for. It won’t be the normal masala action movies that Salman has been releasing for the past few years, which most of the time carry the same story.
Coming to this point, even though Radhe saw its success, it has been rated very poorly, and also critics have been continuously mentioning that Salman Khan needs some movies that have a story and good content. That might help bring back Salman Khan on track once again. Even though his movies have been gaining much-needed numbers in the box office, it doesn’t seem to be enough.
This is one of the main reasons movie buffs, critics are actually looking forward to Salman Khan starring in the remake of the Tamil hit “Master”. The movie comes with a good story and is filled to the brim with amazing concepts as well as the content. But there hasn’t been any kind of announcements on that and the next story that closely resembles something with an amazing story is Mahesh Manjrekar’s “Antim: The Final Truth”
Mahesh Manjrekar, who himself is a celebrated actor and director has created some amazing masterpieces such as the cult classic “Vaastav” with Sanjay Dutt, “Viruddh” with none other than Amitabh Bachchan and few others. So, a movie from him and filled with his notion and talent, we can be sure that “Antim” will be good.
Now, seeing the release dates “Antim” was supposed to release in July, but the second wave of the pandemic pushed it further and according to Manjrekar, he isn’t expecting anything till October. Seeing the timeline, “Antim” most definitely looks like it will release way before the “Master” remake, which gives Salman Khan the advantage of letting fans see him in a movie that looks like it will be packed with content. That being said, “Antim” can become the movie starring Salman Khan that critics and fans have desperately been waiting for.
